Daily Brushing and Flossing Techniques.
Studies have shown kids do not have the proper dexterity until age 10 to do a thorough job in brushing by themselves. Hence we always recommend an adult help until that age. Brushing twice daily for 2 minutes and flossing at least once a day, preferably night time is the most important time.

How to Avoid Over Aggressive Brushing – www.dentalcare.com
Hold the brush gently between thumb and index finger. Use a soft bristle brush to minimize abrasion to your gums and enamel. Do not “grip” the brush or apply strong pressure.

On inside surfaces of front teeth, tilt brush vertically and use gentle up and down strokes with the tip of the brush.
On chewing surfaces, hold the brush flat and brush back and forth.
On the outer and inner surfaces, brush gently at a 45-degree angle in short, half-tooth-wide strokes against the gum line.
