The pH of the mouth is different in everyone; sometimes 5,5-6,0, however, on an average basis, it is 7, or neutral. It is generally recognized that a saliva pH range of 6.5 to 7.5 is considered healthy.  Low ph can be a precursor to calcium deficiency.  The pH of your saliva presents a picture of the overall pH balance in your body. Frequent consumption of energy drinks and sports drinks can affect the oral pH and overall health. The high sugar content in these drinks and low pH of the saliva is a perfect receipe for the demineralization of enamel causing enamel erosion and  increase in decay !!
