Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental disorder that begins early in childhood and lasts throughout a person’s life. It affects how a person acts and interacts with others, communicates, and learns. It includes what used to be known as Asperger syndrome and pervasive developmental disorders.

Start early dental visits with children with autism as they might not know to complain of a toothache, you don’t want a toothache to get worse by ignoring it. Early intervention is the key.

We treat special need kids here at our office, but sometimes we do have to refer them out to children’s hospital for more advance care.
